Missouri State Highway Patrol is cracking down on impaired drivers to keep roads safe.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Missouri State Highway Patrol released the results of a wolfpack operation in Buchanan County this past weekend. On August 15th, 4 police officers patrolled specific areas with the goal of stopping impaired drivers. 5 arrests were made including one D-W-I. The operation was in conjunction with the Trails West Festival in order to keep highway deaths down and drivers safe.
"Anytime there's a special event like that or a holiday weekend or something, something where traffic is going to be increased and concentrated our patrol likes to have an extra presence there to strictly enforce traffic laws and look for impaired drivers," said Sergeant Jacob Angle of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
More operations are scheduled before the end of this year. Including 2 operations this month and a D-W-I checkpoint in October.
