(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Mustangs used a big third inning to roll through the Omaha Diamond Spirit 13-3 Friday night.
The win snaps a four-game losing streak for St. Joseph that began Monday in Clarinda.
Omaha started fast with a lead off triple in the first, followed by a RBI single on the next pitch. It was 2-0 after the top of the inning.
Lucas Powers doubled in the bottom half, and scored after a single by Griff Gordon to cut the deficit in half.
Down 2-1 entering the third inning, the Mustangs put together a six-run frame to take a commanding lead.
Stanten Jones got the win, his third of the summer.
St. Joseph plays its final home game of the season Saturday against the KC Monarchs.
