MWSU Joins Program to Attract Rural Doctors

Missouri Western State University has joined with the University of Missouri School of Medicine on a program designed to encourage more rural doctors.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Missouri Western State University has joined with the University of Missouri School of Medicine on a program designed to encourage more rural doctors.

Students at Missouri Western with an interest in pursuing a career in rural medicine will now be eligible for a pre-admissions program at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.

The Lester. R. Bryant Scholars Pre-Admissions Program is Missouri Western's fourth medical school priority application partnership.

Eligible undergraduates can now be pre-admitted to the medical school at MU.

The program began in 1995 at MU. It's purpose is to attract students who have both a rural background and an interest in practicing rural medicine.
