Enrollment at two universities in northwest Missouri has grown.
Enrollment at two universities in northwest Missouri has grown.

This year's freshman class is one of the largest in several years at Missouri Western State University.

Enrollment numbers show the incoming freshman class is up about 5.5 percent to 1,068.

At Northwest Missouri State University, total enrollment is up 3.5 percent this fall.

Northwest enrolled 6,573 students including 1,333 first-time freshman.

Both universities also saw a bump in international student enrollment.

International enrollment is up 58 percent from a year ago to 128 students at Western.

Northwest saw its international enrollment jump 100 percent from last fall to 717 students.
