Power Restored to Thousands in Brown County after Storm

The storm knocked out power to more than 3,000 Westar customers including the entire city of Hiawatha.
(BROWN COUNTY, Ks.) Power has been restored to nearly all Westar Energy customers in Brown County who lost power after powerful storms rolled through Tuesday night.

The storm knocked out power to more than 3,100 Westar customers including the entire city of Hiawatha.

A strong thunderstorm hit Brown County hard with heavy rain, winds and large hail.
 
Utility crews from Independence, Fort Scott and Horton were called in to help restore power.
