(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A deadly shooting involving a St. Joseph police officer is now under review.

Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney, Dwight Scroggins, said he is reviewing the actions of Patrick Zeamer, a seven-year veteran of the St. Joseph Police Department.

Zeamer shot John Weipert, 47, during a domestic disturbance call at a home in the 1500 block of S. 41st on March 10. Weipert died from his injuries.

Investigators said Weipert was armed and intoxicated. They say he was suicidal and made threatening acts toward officers on the scene.

Scroggins said he has a lot of information to process before making a final decision in the case.

"There are several hours of reports, video and audio that need to be reviewed," said Scroggins.

Scroggins expects to wrap up his review by Tuesday, March 25.

Zeamer is on paid administrative leave at this time.
