Red Rally Greets Chiefs Fans at Training Camp in St. Joseph

The first thing fans got a taste of before the first huddle at training camp was the best of what St. Joseph has to offer during the Red Rally.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) It was a sea of red around the football field as Chiefs fans returned to St. Joseph Friday.

The first thing fans got a taste of before the first huddle was the best of what St. Joseph has to offer during the Red Rally.

In the third year of the Chiefs Training Camp at Missouri Western State University, businesses in St. Joseph arrived to greet fans and show off what the city can offer.

Gifts, coupons, prizes all enticed the young and young at heart making the travel to the Midland Empire.

During the first year, the city saw an economic stimulus of about $20 million.

After a rough fall last year because of the NFL lockout, businesses are ready to welcome back fans ready to see some football.

""We want them to stay a while," said Kristi Rasmussen, director of communications with the St. Joseph Metro Chamber. "We want them to come see our museums, stay at our hotels so they get to see the best of St. Joe while they are here to see their favorite team."
