The outage hit around 5:45 p.m. Monday.
Power was finally restored to everyone about an hour and a half later.
This was the second time in a week KCP&L customers spent part of the night without power.
Around 2,500 customers lost power last Monday.
A KCP&L spokeswoman did not have an immediate cause for the outage but said it is too early to tell if the outages are related.
