Sen. Blunt: KC VA Admits to Waiting List for Veterans

Blunt's office recently learned of several Missouri facilities where veterans waited for care for longer than 90 days.
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) Missouri Senator Roy Blunt says veterans are ending up on an unauthorized waiting list at the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Blunt says the center admitted to the list hours after he pressed officials for information.

"These so-called 'unauthorized wait lists' for America's heroes are simply unacceptable and will not be tolerated," Blunt said in a statement. "Our veterans should not be forced to wait for care."

Blunt's office recently learned of several Missouri facilities where veterans waited for care for longer than 90 days.

VA Secretary Eric Shinseki stepped down earlier this month after an internal audit revealed some veterans waited more than 100 days for medical appointments.
