Service Restored in Troy after Water Main Break

The city of Troy was forced to shut off water services and cancel classes after a water main break early Tuesday morning.
(TROY, Ks.) The city of Troy now has water again after a water main broke early Tuesday morning.

According to Troy's City Clerk Jane Boeh, the break also led the Troy School District to cancel classes on Tuesday.

City crews say they got the call around 8:30 Monday night and worked all night long to assess the main break and get water flowing again.

Crews had to cut through a foot of concrete to get beneath the roadway at Poplar and Main; they say the fluctuating temperatures are to blame.

City officials say a boil advisory is in effect now that utilities are turned back on.
