Smoke Free Group Pounds Pavement

Volunteers began door-to-door campaigning for the proposed smoking ban.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A door-to-door campaign in favor of a proposed smoking ban in St. Joseph got kicked off Saturday.

Volunteers canvassed neighborhoods; reminding people about the April 8 ballot measure.

About 60 volunteers were signed up. Organizers say they plan to continue getting out and talking to people in precincts they feel are most likely to support the smoking ban to remind voters about the election.

There hope is to reach about 6,000 voters before the election.
