Snowfall to Begin the New Year

A Winter Weather Advisory is already in effect. It's going to be cold, windy, and snowy by the afternoon.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) New Years Eve made us briefly forget what season it is.

The unexpected warm up to the 50s was pleasant, and the sunshine was nice.

Sweep all that away, and we're left with a very bleak weather outlook to begin the New Year.

We begin with a Winter Weather Advisory, and the expectation for 2-4 inches of snow by the end of the day.

Then, we are looking at very cold conditions entering and exiting the weekend.

Thursday will be frigid, with temperatures likely near or below zero to start the day and a high in the teens.

Also, we're looking at another light chance for snow sometime this weekend.

Today, be smart about the snow and we should be okay.  We've seen worse already this season.

Happy New Year.
