Sports Crusader Camp Begins This Week in St. Joseph

The camp allows college athletes to coach kids in sports and also share their testimony.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A big kickoff at Green Valley Baptist Church on Sunday night introduced kids to a week full of fun and playing sports.

Sports Crusaders is in town and will hold a camp all week to minister to children while playing sports.

College student athletes coach the kids and share their testimony at the same time.

Sports Crusaders travel around the Midwest hosting camps during the summer months.

Three churches in the area will host different sports twice a day including basketball, cheerleading and soccer.

"We have found over 20 years of ministry that using the avenue of sports is a great way to connect with children," said Cynthia Walker, Director of Development for Sports Crusaders.

Kyle Fox went to Central High School and is joining the Sports Crusaders this summer.

"I just want to share Christ with people and glorify Christ in everything I do," he said.

Registration forms for the camp can be found on Facebook at Sports Crusaders - St. Joseph.

Children must be in between 1st and 8th grades.
