St. Joseph Attorney Pleads Guilty to Domestic Assault

John Spencer pleaded guilty Tuesday afternoon to domestic assault.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A St. Joseph attorney will spend two years on probation for assaulting his wife.

John Spencer pleaded guilty Tuesday afternoon to domestic assault.

Spencer changed his plea to guilty hours after his initial court appearance Tuesday morning where he entered a not guilty plea.

Spencer was arrested last week after police say he punched and choked his wife in front of the couple's three children.

Court documents show the victim told police she had been assaulted in the past.
