St. Joseph Woman Celebrates a Century

Cissy Anderson celebrated her 100th Birthday on Sunday and was so grateful for all of the love and appreciation on her special day.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A St. Joseph woman is celebrating a centuray with friends and family.

Cissy Anderson celebrated her 100th birthday Sunday afternoon. Anderson says she never thought she would live to be 100 years old, but feels blessed for the time she has had.

Five generations of her family attended her birthday party, which included cake, punch and gifts.

"I'm shocked, I never dreamed that I'd see some of them.  I love you all," said Cissy Anderson.

"She's been a sweetheart, we love her.  So, we're happy that the party was put on for her because she's really shocked and enjoying it," said Helen Munns, Anderson's stepdaughter.

Some of her grandkids sang her favorite church hymns at the party.  Anderson says they are already looking forward to celebrating her 101st birthday.
