Strong Winds Send Train Off Tracks in Northeast Kansas

(EVEREST, Kan.) Strong winds that blew through northeast Kansas toppled a train near Everest.

The train, headed for Arkansas, had stopped on the tracks because of a tornado warning in the area.

Officials said a strong wind gust caused more than 50 Union Pacific train cars to overturn.

Despite the mess, there were no reports of injuries or damage to the tracks.
