(SPRINGFIELD, Mo.) Family members of Hailey Owens sat on the first row inside a Springfield courtroom Friday.

They caught a glimpse for the first time of Craig Wood on a video screen from the jail.

Wood heard and agreed to understanding the three felony counts against him, including first degree murder.

Wood is being represented by Chris Hatley, a public defender, at this time. County Prosecutor Todd Myers says the investigation shows wood had a million-dollar trust and can afford his own attorney. Judge Dan Imhoff said that will be decided later.

Wood will be back in court on March 19. A preliminary hearing is set for April 7.

Hatley filed a motion to preserve all notes taken during the investigation that was granted.
