Troopers Investigate after Truck Smashes through Apartment Wall

(CRAIG, Mo.) The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating after a close call for a Holt County family.

A truck slammed into their apartment over the weekend. The collision happened early Saturday morning, leaving a hole in the side of the apartment in Craig. A mom and her two young children were inside but they made it out unharmed.

"It really traumatized her and the children," said Pamela Wilson, the apartment complex manager. "I don't think that they would possibly be able to lay down and go to sleep in here again."

Wilson says the truck that hit the building was reportedly stolen.

A man who heard it all said the damage to the truck and building is one thing, but the pickup came very close to hitting the kids too.

"I ran out my front door, came around the corner, seen the pick up taking off around the corner. It was totaled," said Brandon Michaels, neighbor.

Two people were arrested and released, pending possible charges. According to the Holt County Sheriff's Department, the Highway Patrol is handling the investigation. We were unable to reach them for comment.
