The school says it's not opposed to students taking photos of themselves. It just doesn't want them doing so on the stage during the commencement.
University officials say it slows down the ceremony.
USF isn't the first school to make such a rule, nor is it the only thing they're asking of graduating students.
An ad in the student newspaper entitled, "Graduation Etiquette," also classifies stepping, marching, and strolling as inappropriate behavior.
