Uptown St. Joseph Celebrates 10th Anniversary

It has been a decade since the uptown area began to pick itself up. The 10th Uptown St. Joseph Historic Homes Tour showed the progress in the area.
(ST. JOSEPH) Beautiful weather brought hundreds to First Presbyterian Church for the 10th annual Historic Homes Tour.

Uptown St. Joseph Redevelopment Corp. showed off the work put in to revitalizing the Uptown area over the last decade.

Homes dating back to as early as the 1860's were on display.

This was an important milestone for Uptown St. Joseph because it showed how much work the group put in to make the area better.
"There's a lot of pockets of home that have marvelous architecture embellishments that sometimes go unappreciated. And so, with this tour, we hope to show off those things," said Uptown Redevelopment President Bob Dempster.

Neighbors and partners, including Heartland Health, have invested about $24 million worth of renovations.
