Western -- the 12 seed in the MIAA Tournament -- tied UCO 36-36 on a Ryan Devers three-pointer just 35 seconds into the second half, and Kalvin Balque hit a three nearly midway through the final period to bring the Griffs (10-18) back within six points of the Bronchos. But from there, Central Oklahoma went on a 21-3 run to pull away.
Balque and Devers led Western with 13 points apiece, and Charlie Marquardt added 11 points and seven rebounds.
UCO's Josh Gibbs did the most damage to the Griffons scoring 32 points on 9-20 shooting, and pulling down 15 rebounds. Central also outscored Western 36-20 in the paint.
The Bronchos advance to the MIAA Tournament quarterfinals against Fort Hays State on Friday.
