Wilson, the 1982 American League batting champion and outfielder for Kansas City's 1985 World Series title team, has been touring for the book for over a year and drew long lines at Schaffer Park before first pitch.
"It doesn't really feel any different being in a small ballpark to a big ballpark. If people like you, they'll like you in a big one," he said. "Why can't the small towns get Willie's book and have Willie come out? To me, everybody that reads this book will get something out of it."
Wilson described the book as one about his life with baseball being just a part of it. Copies are available online through Amazon.
