Winter Blast Moves in Overnight

Colder air and chances for rain, sleet and snow will move into the area late Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Chances for rain, sleet and snow exist through the night Saturday and into the morning hours on Sunday.

Rain will likely be followed by sleet or other mixed precipitation in the late-night, early morning hours. Snow should begin around 2 a.m. Sunday and could continue until 9 a.m. Total accumulation should be no more than one inch, likely less.

Cold air will accompany the precipitation with morning temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Highs Sunday likely won't get above the mid-30s, though clouds should clear and reveal some sunshine Sunday afternoon.

Strong northeasterly winds will also be present with speeds around 30 miles per hour and gusts reaching close to 50 miles per hour.
