Driver in I-29 Chain Reaction Crash Dies

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 65-year-old Jerry Wofford has died from injuries he suffered in the accident.
(PLATTE COUNTY, Mo.) A driver involved in a chain reaction crash involving six vehicles on I-29 has died.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 65-year-old Jerry Wofford has died from injuries he suffered in the accident.

Wofford was from Topeka, Kansas.

Troopers say a semi truck rear ended Wofford's car on I-29 near Platte City on Monday.

The collision sparked a chain reaction accident involving four other vehicles including another semi truck.

Troopers say rush hour traffic was slowing because of construction when the accident happened.

The driver of the semi truck, Robert Sanko, suffered moderate injuries.

Sanko is from Topeka, Kansas.
