Drivers Look Forward to Cheaper Fill-Ups

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Gas prices have fallen steadily throughout the month of September, and drivers should look forward to the cheaper fill-ups in the weeks ahead.

In the state of Missouri, average retail gasoline prices have fallen $0.07 per gallon in the past week. Averaging at $3.15 yesterday.

Gasbuddy.com says that 12 states are seeing prices under $3.00 per gallon, and more states will join that over the next 7 days.

"It's exciting on the one hand, on the other hand why is it dropping, and that's usually because of some underlying economic problem. And there's all kinds of speculation of what that might be," said traveler Fred Williams.

In Missouri, prices on Sunday were $0.46 per gallon lower than the same day one year ago.
