Drug Bust During Traffic Stop Leads to Prison Time

(PLATTE COUNTY, Mo.) A drug bust during a traffic stop in Platte County leads to prison time for a California man.

A judge sentenced Marcos Gonzalez, 37, to 19 years in prison for drug trafficking.

Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd said a sheriff's deputy stopped Gonzalez in a U-Haul box van last April near I-29 and I-435.

The deputy discovered 13.3 pounds of cocaine and other items used to package narcotics and bulk cash inside the vehicle during a search.

Zahnd said the street value of the cocaine is about $600,000.
