Friends of the Red Ribbon End AIDS Awareness Week with a Bang

Friends of the Red Ribbon hosted a silent and live auction to close out AIDS Awareness Week.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) St. Joseph's Friends of the Red Ribbon ended National AIDS Awareness Week with a bang.

They hosted a live and silent auction at the Zion United Church of Christ.

The live auction featured more than 45 donated Christmas trees from local businesses and organizations.

The trees were decorated in themes that displayed a wide variety of interests, like regular holiday decor to candy bags.

There was also a silent auction with more than 55 baskets with tons of different items.

"Boy baskets, girls baskets, lady baskets, men baskets. A whole variety," said Andy Halamar.

The money from the auction goes to the St. Joseph Health Department.

Friends of the Red Ribbon is hoping to raise $1,000.
