Gov. Jay Nixon has announced an executive order forming the Missouri Military Partnership in an effort to retain and enhance Missouri's military force.
(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) Gov. Jay Nixon has announced an executive order forming the Missouri Military Partnership in an effort to retain and enhance Missouri's military force.

State Treasurer Clint Zweifel will lead the partnership and has been asked to gather input from communities, like St. Joseph, with military bases.

The partnership has been asked to prepare a report for the Governor by March 31 detailing the state's strategy to protect, retain and enhance Missouri's defense installations.

Nixon said the state has already funded an economic impact study of the Missouri National Guard, Whiteman Air Force Base, Fort Leonard Wood and all U.S. Department of Defense spending in the state.
