The name change is part of a process to give the hospital a new image.
The process was started after the company learned it did not own the trademark for Heartland Health in the Kansas City market.
"It's much more than just putting a new name on the building," Chief Brand Officer Tama Wagner said. "It really is changing the guts and emotion of what it means to be Mosaic Life Care."
The company said the new type of care goes beyond a visit to a healthcare provider.
"Mosaic Life Care is more about you as the whole person," Wagner said. "Everything that rules into you being the healthiest person you can be."
The St. Joseph hospital is undergoing some construction as part of the changes.
Heartland just remodeled their cafeteria and is changing some hallways near the main entrance.
"We'll change to the Mosaic colors, the Mosaic look and feel," Wagner said.
Heartland has already incorporated the Mosaic name into billing and their website.
Executive Assistant Anita Simon said she loves what her company is doing.
"To me Mosaic says everything for me spiritually about pieces of different people, personalities, even flaws that we have," Simon said.
Heartland is looking for some community feedback, which could slow the process.
The company does not know when everything will be switched over.
"We'll really take our time and do this the right way," Wagner said.
The company expects all of the branding to be changed over in three to five years.
Company representatives are available to speak with groups about the transition process.
If you're group is interested, Heartland said to contact Tracey Clark at Tracey.Clark@mymlc.com.
