I-229 Crash Kills Driver

Troopers say a truck was hauling wood when it lost control, went off the road and rolled over.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A crash on a St. Joseph interstate killed the driver of a pick-up truck Tuesday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Alan Walker died in the one vehicle accident.

The wreck happened in the northbound lanes of I-229 near the 229 and I-29 interchange just before 5:00 p.m.

Troopers say Walker was hauling wood when he lost control of the truck and it went off the road and rolled.

"The driver of the pick-up truck lost control. They were pulling a trailer with construction wood. It started fishtailing, lost control and went off the right side of the interstate and overturned a couple times," said Trooper Scott Meyer.

Walker was not wearing his seat belt.

Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash.
