Job Fair Offers Employment Opportunities in Maryville

Job hunters spent the day mingling with potential employers in Maryville.
(MARYVILLE, Mo.) Job hunters spent Wednesday afternoon mingling with potential employers in Maryville.

The Nodaway County Economic Development group hosted a job fair at the community center.

The event was open to the community, but offered specific sessions for former employees of the Energizer plant.

A private session was held for those former workers before the event opened to the public.

A variety of businesses attended the fair, from retail to construction.

Kim Mildrad works for the Missouri Career Center and oversaw aspects of the event.

"It's a really good way for them to come in, no matter if they are from the Energizer facility and hit a bunch of employees at once or talk to a bunch of employers at once," Mildrad said.

The job fair lasted until 8 p.m.
