Lamar Runs Through Lawson for 3rd Straight Title

The Lamar Tigers rushed for 518 yards Friday evening.
(ST. LOUIS, Mo.) For the third consecutive season, the Lamar Tigers rule Class 2 football in Missouri. Lamar (14-1) used an overwhelming rushing attack to beat Lawson (12-3) 42-0 Friday evening.

Jared Beshore led the Tigers with 212 rush yards and three touchdowns -- including a 75-yard outburst in the second quarter. Lamar broke its own state record picking up 518 yards rushing as a team in the game.

The Cardinals could only muster 169 yards of total offense, including 77 rush yards on 25 carries.

Lawson was making its first trip to the dome in six seasons. The Cardinals won it all in 2007 over Blair Oaks, and lost the 2003 title game to Centralia.
