Capital Electric will present a 10-20 minute light show on the new Amelia Earhart bridge Wednesday night at 6 p.m. Should weather force a cancellation, the event will be moved to the same time on Thursday night.
The lights were officially turned on in July, but the old bridge blocked the view of the lights from the north.
The City of Atchison will be responsible for control of the light display.
The bridge replacement was a cooperative project between the Kansas and Missouri Departments of Transportation. KDOT contributed $30.6 million and MoDOT provided $28.8 million.
