Margaret was born on September 15, 1914 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa to Joseph Franklin and Mary Bessie (Shaffner) Mishler.

She lived most of her growing years in Fort Dodge, IA, moved to Marshalltown, Iowa in 1946, lived there until 1979 moved to Lyndon, Illinois, until 1996 and moved to live near her daughter and son-in-law in St. Louis, Michigan, moved with Bill and Mary Ann in 2000 to Cameron, MO.

Margaret Married Edward K. “Bud” Brainerd on May 12, 1937. He preceded her in death in January 1995.

She was also preceded by her parents; son, David in 1998 and her sister, Josephine White in 2008.

She worked at the YMCA in Marshalltown, also a bookkeeper to several firms, worked her earlier years as an office girl at JC Penney’s in Fort Dodge, Iowa, but she stayed at home to raise her family most of her years.

Survivors: Daughters, Mary Ann (William) McCurdy, Cameron, MO, Peggy Jo (Warren) Buchwald, Marshalltown, IA; son, David (Amy) Brainerd, Fort Meyers, FL; 14 grandchildren, Jeffrey Darter, Columbia, MO, Lonnie Lingo and Joseph (Mai) Darter, Marshalltown, IA, Aaron (Daphne) Buchwald, New Port Coast, CA, RaeAnn (Stuart) Jacobs, San Antonio, TX, Jonathan Darter (Kelly), St. Joseph, MO, Ben Buchwald, Madison, WI, Jess Buchwald, Hollywood, CA, Peggy (Joe) Hannam, Marshalltown, IA, Ted Buchwald, Irvine, CA, David Edward, Jr.(Tammi) Brainerd, Delano, MN, Marcus Brainerd, La Salle, IL, Molly (Brian) Foley, Cameron, MO; 26 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; 1 foster grandson and 3 foster great-grandchildren, four step-great-great-grandchildren.
