Martial Arts Academy Hosts Fundraiser to Benefit Noyes Home

Monroe Martial Arts celebrates grand opening with a fundraiser for the Noyes Home.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Monroe Martial Arts Academy celebrated the grand opening of their new location on Saturday with a fundraiser to help the children at the Noyes Home.

The event featured a Board-Break-A-Thon, a live demonstration from a eighth degree black belt and also gave visitors the chance to get their photographs taken with both the Kung Fu Panda and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to help children at the Noyes Home learn self defense by making the journey from a white belt to a black belt.

Michael Monroe says he held the fundraiser for the children's home because he grew up with a close friend who lived there, and since then it has always had an important place in his family's heart.

Monroe's Martial Arts Academy is located at 2221 North Belt Highway.
