Maryville Teen Wins National FFA Award

A Maryville teen's hard work in the field paid off at the National FFA Convention.
(MARYVILLE, Mo.) A Maryville teen was recognized for his work in the field at the National FFA Convention.

John Schenkel, 17,  was named the national winner for a grain production entrepreneurship award last week in Louisville, Ken.
  
Schenkel started a row crop operation with his sister when he was in 7th grade.
  
He now manages more than 100 acres of soy beans and 54 acres of corn.
  
He also rents another 40 acres and has worked to market his grain for higher prices.
