Overnight, icy roads, freezing temperatures and even more snow pounding the midwest from Iowa to Ohio.
(ABC) Overnight, icy roads, freezing temperatures and even more snow pounding the midwest from Iowa to Ohio.

Officials are warning travelers to be cautious, as Chicago racks up 11 inches of snow, wreaking havoc at the airports.

And it's not only flights getting disrupted by this storm.  Icy highways packed with red-brake lights and littered with overturned cars and trucks

In St. Louis and Louisville, buses filled with holiday travelers are stranded without heat or water.

In this wicked winter weather, travel's not the only thing that's dangerous.

One of the biggest concerns this morning: frostbite, when both the skin and tissue underneath freeze. It's important to cover those ears which are at greatest risk for frost bite because there's no muscle tissue to heat them up and fingertips and toes which already have reduced blood flow in the cold. Even the corners of your eyes can get frostbitten in extreme conditions. So, it's best to stay covered when braving the cold.
