Missouri Western Promotes Pickman to V.P. of University Advancement

Missouri Western State University has chosen a current administrator and alumnus as the next vice president for university advancement.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Missouri Western State University has chosen a current administrator and alumnus as the next vice president for university advancement.

The university announced today that Jerry Pickman will be named to the post on June 1.

Pickman began working at Missouri Western in 2004 as director of development. Earlier this year, he was named associate vice president for university advancement and served as interim vice president since the resignation of Dr. Jonathan Yordy on April 30.

He will oversee advancement activities for the university, including development, alumni services, public relations and marketing and campus printing and design services. Pickman will also be a member of the president's cabinet and be executive director of the MWSU foundation.

Prior to Western, Pickman the director of development at Benedictine College from 2001 to 2004.

He graduated from Missouri Western with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice in 1985. He received an Executive Master of Business Administration from Benedictine in 2001.
