(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Missouri Department of Transportation asks drivers to be alert for highway workers as they wrap up mowing for the year.

MoDOT's final mowing cycle of 2013 is underway and that means crews will be mowing along various major roads between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

They will also cover the minor roads as well.

Drivers can expect to see the tractors and "follow" trucks, which move slowly along the highways.

MoDOT advises drivers to watch for flashing lights, slow down and prepare to stop if necessary.

The mowing cycle may continue through November, depending on the weather.
