The Mules used a bit of offensive variety and stout defense to knock off the Wildkats in King City, 41-0.
Tyson Gay drew first blood in the contest, putting the Mules (1-0) up 7-0 early.
With a goal line stand necessary, the Wildkat (0-1) defense couldn't stop a quick aerial strike from
Brandon Maddick to Brandon Stimelsky. That put Lathrop up 14-0, a lead they would take into the locker room.
Back out of the gate swinging, tailback Robert Askren took the fourth play from scrimmage to the house for another rushing score.
Lathrop continued the offensive onslaught, escaping King City with win number one in this 2012 season.
