New Northeast Kansas Landmark LighsUp the Night

Bright LED lights are now a part of the skyline in Atchison.
(ATCHISON, Kan.) A new northeast Kansas landmark is lighting up the night.

Bright LED lights are now a part of the skyline in Atchison.

The lights are actually a part of the new Amelia Earhart Bridge.

K-DOT and Capital Electric lit up the night sky to show off the lights.

The lights were turned on back in July during the Amelia Earhart Festival, but the old bridge blocked their view.

The new $60 million Amelia Earhart Bridge opened to traffic in June.
