Northwest Claims Top Seed in Super Region 3

The Bearcats (11-0) have a bye week in the first round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs.
(MARYVILLE, Mo.) After completing its first undefeated regular season since 2006, the NCAA rewarded Northwest Missouri State with the top seed in Super Region 3 of the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs.

The Bearcats (11-0) receive a bye in the first round, and will face the winner between Minnesota Duluth (10-1) and Emporia State (9-1) in the second round on November 30th.

Northwest and Emporia are the only MIAA football teams to earn a trip to the playoffs. Missouri Western, Pittsburg State and Washburn were all ranked in the region's top ten, but all lost on the final day of the regular season.
