The University said 23-year-old Christina Worsfold of Papillion, Neb., died of natural causes.
Worsfold received her undergraduate degree in elementary education from the University and was studying to become a reading teacher.
She had a passion for helping children with reading difficulties, something her adviser and professor noticed.
"We were really just getting to know each other and all of my students were just heartbroken," adviser Margaret Drew said. "We are all just sad at the loss."
Worsfold has a sister that is on Northwest's soccer team.
The University is providing counseling for students that need it.
They also are holding a public gathering for her on Thursday at 4 p.m. in the student union center.
