Northwest Ranked 4th, Missouri Western 6th in AFCA Poll

The co-favorites to win the MIAA both make the preseason poll's top ten.
(ST. JOSEPH) The AFCA Division 2 Preseason Poll has been released, and two favorites to win the MIAA are placed in the top ten. 

Reigning conference champion Missouri Western is ranked sixth, while Northwest Missouri State is fourth after receiving one first-place vote.

The Griffons and Bearcats have already finished tied for the most votes in the MIAA Coaches Poll, with Northwest just edging out their rivals as the favorite to capture the conference in the media poll.

Both teams are in their second week of camp and held their first practices in full pads Monday.

Pittsburg State is the only other MIAA team to crack the top 25, coming in at 21st. Central Missouri and Emporia State received top 25 votes.
