Northwest Throttles Winless Central Oklahoma

The Bearcats cruise 72-10 to hit next week's Fall Classic undefeated.
(MARYVILLE, Mo.) Third-ranked Northwest wasted little time putting another winless opponent behind them, toppling Central Oklahoma 72-10 at Bearcat Stadium Saturday.

The Bearcats (6-0, 5-0), fueled by 687 yards of total offense, stormed out to a 28-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Quarterback Trevor Adams completed 18 of 21 passes for 246 yards while accounting for four touchdowns.

Northwest picked up five scores on the ground as part of a 323-yard day for the run game. Robert Burton III and Justin Fulks both found the end zone twice.

The defense held the Bronchos (0-6, 0-6) to under 300 total yards and hauled in a pair of interceptions.

The Bearcats, who are primed for a jump in the Division II polls after top-ranked Valdosta State's loss, head to Arrowhead Stadium next Saturday for the annual Fall Classic against Pittsburg State.
