Nursing Home Residents Moved after Sprinkler System Problem

Thirty-seven residents of the Oregon Care Center were transported to the community building while crews worked to repair a broken sprinkler head.
(OREGON, Mo.) A northwest Missouri nursing home had to move residents to a different facility after a problem with the sprinkler system Tuesday.

Thirty-seven residents of the Oregon Care Center were transported to the TJ Hall Community Building in Oregon while crews worked to repair a broken sprinkler head.

According to Kim Ireland, CEO of Tiffany Care Centers, the cold weather contributed to the problem with the sprinkler system. She said they had to turn off electricity to the facility make repairs. They decided it would be best to move the residents during that time.

Ireland said they have received plenty of offers for assistance from the community to transport residents as needed.

Ireland said they were hopeful they would be able to move everyone back to the facility Tuesday afternoon.
