The U.S. Small Business Administration partnered with the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce to host the seminar.
The Kansas City chapter of Score was also involved in teaching the class.
The workshop taught some basic skills needed to start a business and maintain a successful career.
"The economic situation has found some people out of work or folks have retired," District manager Roderick Cox said. "Circumstances have caused them to have to enter back into the job market, and rather than going back to work somewhere, they might have had the desire to have their own business for awhile."
The small business administration hosts other seminars throughout the year.
