Police Say Woman Malnourished Infant

Police say Megan Wright allowed the victim to become severely malnourished.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A St. Joseph woman has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after police say she allowed an infant under 10 months old to become malnourished, leading to the child being hospitalized.

According to court documents, Megan L. Wright, 22, allowed the child, "to become severely malnourished due to nutritional neglect which caused substantial health risk to the victim."

Wright allegedly did not seek medical treatment for the infant, which led to hospitalization. Detective Quentin Abott's statement also states Wright, "failed to provide emotional and psychological care for the victim causing global developmental delay."

Wright had care, custody and control of the infant.

A $25,000 surety bond has been issued.
