Shaw Will Join Arizona

Undrafted free agent Tyler Shaw will join the Arizona Cardinals.

(ST. LOUIS, Mo.) After putting up solid numbers for four years at Northwest Missouri State, wide receiver Tyler Shaw gets the opportunity to continue his career in the NFL.

At the conclusion of Saturday's NFL Draft, Shaw will sign a free agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

Shaw, a St. Louis native, was receiving phone calls from a few different teams during the sixth and seventh rounds.

He says the most serious look came when the Cardinals had narrowed down their final pick of the draft to Rutgers tight end D.C. Jefferson and himself.

Arizona chose Jefferson, but immediately called Shaw and offered to sign him as a free agent.

During his college career at Northwest, Shaw had 3,021 receiving yards and 32 touchdowns.

Now he joins a team with arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL, Larry Fitzgerald.

"All these years, just being a fan, now to be sharing the same field as these guys I watched on TV is surreal," Shaw said in a phone interview Saturday night.

He fly out to Arizona for rookie minicamp on May 9th.

Arizona also drafted Texas A&M wide receiver Ryan Swope on Saturday.
