Shoppers Stock Up Ahead of Winter Storm

As the storm continues to move in, grocery and hardware stores are swarming with last-minute shoppers.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) As the storm continues to move in, grocery and hardware stores are swarming with last-minute shoppers.

Locals have stocked up on canned goods, water, and other foods in case of any emergency.

And hardware stores have sold have plenty of ice melt, salt, shovels, ice scrapers.

"They're coming in buying snow shovels, ice melt, sleds, that type of thing," Ace Hardware general manager Greg Eagleburger said.

While some shopped for goods for outdoor chores or fun, others were preparing for a long stay inside.

"With the weather that's predicted for this evening, it's been kind of one of those days, where everybody is out and about and trying to get the things that they need before the weather gets bad," Green Hills manager Jeff Heitman said.
